Career Workshop

Career Fair3rd Annual Career Workshop for Students
Set for September 21, 2011

On September 22, 2009, Gamma Sigma Delta sponsored the initial, highly successful Career Workshop to assist undergraduate and graduate students with career preparation. Now, this annual workshop is held in advance of the UT Job Fair and CASNR Career Fair in order to help student get resumes ready and prepare to meet with company representatives at these fairs. Gamma Sigma Delta planned the workshop and provided lunch.

Workshops conducted jointly by UT Career Services personnel (Mary Mahoney) and CASNR’s Director of Student Services (Emily Gray) included:  How to Work a Job Fair, Interview Techniques, Resume Preparation, and Hire-A-Vol Registration.  Resumes critiques were done throughout the workshop by Career Services personnel.

A total of 36 students, 30 from CASNR, participated in the workshop. Twelve of the attendees were graduate students and 24 undergraduate. Most students brought a resume for critique and several attended the workshops.

Career FairThe event not only helped students prepare for the job market but also increased the Chapter’s visibility on campus.
