Thank you for your incredibly generous response to the relief effort for our friends and colleagues at the UK Research and Education Center (UKREC) and the surrounding community. In a short 3-day period we raised nearly $2,745 for the 7 UKREC staff members who lost their homes, possessions, and in many cases their transportation.

The outpouring of generosity spanned UT staff and their families donating gently used and new items, programmatic areas donating snacks and shirts, and The Department of Plant Sciences and UTIA AgResearch for generously supporting our transportation.  I also want to thank the Francisco Palacios and Lexi Worley from the forage testing lab; and Grace Pietsch and Lauren Fessler from nursery crops production, for donation logistics and Gamma Sigma Delta leadership for making this intense drive possible on such short notice.

Checks and a box truck of relief items were delivered last week and were met with a very heartfelt thank you. It is hard to put into words the magnitude of the damage.  It was matched only by their gratefulness at our response.
